Daniel E. Arends has over nineteen years experience in commercial real estate, focusing his attention on representing tenants in the Metropolitan Chicago market. He has completed more than 1,000 assignments totaling over ten million square feet of office space throughout his career.
Over the last decade Dan has established himself as one of the premier downtown tenant representation broker. In 1999, he was one of three finalists for “Transaction of the Year” for his work with True North Communications, Inc. In 2002, he was awarded “Most Prepared Broker” by Prime Real Estate Investment Trust. In 2005, his team was awarded “Transaction of the Year” for their work with Sara Lee Corporation. Four of the last five years, Dan has been one of the five finalists for “Office Broker of the Year.” In 2008, Dan was also named a “Power Broker” by CoStar, designating him as one of Chicago’s Top Brokers, “Tenant Representation Broker of the Year” by Commerical Forum, and was recognized as one of the top leasing brokers in the country in the national publicaiton, The Real Estate Forum.

Prior to joining Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler, Dan was with Insignia/ESG and CB Richard Ellis where he was consistently one of the top producers in the Downtown office.

Industry Affiliation
Dan was the President of the Commercial Office Leasing Brokers Association (COLBA) in 2008 and 2009, and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. He was also Chairman of Colliers Law Firm Services Group in 2007 and 2008, and is presently a member of the steering committee.
